“A man may die, nations may rise and fall, but an idea lives on” – JFK

Last night when I sat down to think of my newsletter I did a little thinking then, before I knew it, did a little scrolling. I was starting an infinite scroll of procrastination on bad-ole instagram when I unwoke from my zombie frenzy looking for the cat meme brainz. i unwoke to a triggering gross picture. I stopped and became conscience again and realized the caption was really strange… I scrolled down a couple posts and noticed another strange caption, then another.

Why is this I thought, then did some research. It turns out I was noticing the phenomenon known as “dead internet theory”

Dead internet theory is as ghost town vibish as it sounds. It basically states that most of the internet is populated by bots pushing an agenda; the agenda can vary from who is overall behind it and what is wanting to be pushed. As of tonight it was being comfortable and disturbed it seemed. But other agendas have been pushed like Elon Mustard amassing an AI army of advertisers towards rolling out his cyber truck. Sounds like stuff of dystopian sci-fi right? Yes and I wanted not to be a guy who gets blown up in car while Giant Mecha Bot Zuckerberg parades down the city scape telling people not to eat vegetables or something alike analogically speaking.

But this newsletter is not an analogy it still relates to my art and I am getting on with the point. So I read about dead internet theory -> got irked with meta -> deleted instagram -> then should have thought/written my newsletter -> got on YouTube. Which I realized was also a dead platform. But not entirely dead. Maybe a platform that has some terrible debilitating disease… but not dead; because there are lots of great content creators (that don’t get shoved to the bottom of an endless feed full of disturbing content)

There are a few YouTubers that I really look forward to their post schedule (like you get excited for my Tuesday newsletter ((Right??)) ) Anyhow I thought (rethought) “I should make a YouTube channel” “then I can sell my prints” it is a great time to be alive as an artist with the marketability of like the whole world in your pocket. So why not? Well I can think of a lot of reasons to why not but I don’t want to! I want to make a YouTube channel!

So instead of writing my newsletter I wrote a notebooks page full of YouTube video ideas. Hooray! …Well Im still going to think about making a YouTube account, but most likely I will. I have to actually make some videos; but that is the plan!

Otherwise in this week. I didn’t get much painting done. Still moving forward with it but not very fast. I got a lot of sketches done aaand I made a plan as of how to paint more because I don’t like taking so long to finish one painting. I just thought!(right now) Maybe if I can paint more then that will show I can put out consistent (quality) content (that makes the internet not dead). Hmmm… ok I will ponder

Bye
