I didn’t get much done this week. More work on the studio is done though! The floors are ready now and stuff is ready to be put in. Though there are no shelves or no storage so I can’t move everything in back yet. Soon enough!
With the slight lapse in work this week I got a lot of reading done! I learned some tips to composition and some printmaking tricks. What I learned that I didn’t read is that one can’t really learn art from reading! I mean that just books won’t get you anywhere alone.
Just like if you wanted to learn guitar, one has to pick up a guitar and get a feel of the strings and chords on their fingers. Yes reading “guitar books” will make you a better “guitar player” (That’s why I’m reading the art books anyways!)
But if I were to just read them I shouldn’t hope to expect to be much better when the last page of the book is closed.
I gotta put the pencil to the paper and use what I’ve learned in those books as guidelines. I’d be better off just drawing rather than just reading. But I don’t have to make that ultimatum. It’s a combination of drawing or getting inspired from what I read then building those muscles again and again with the different exercises I’ve learned!
I learned a few exercises so now I have more stuff to work on!
Im excited to move my stuff back into the studio and get going!
